30 days of sewing with Art Gallery Fabrics
I was so excited to be asked to be chosen for 30 days of sewing with Art Gallery Fabrics! I had such a hard time choosing which fabric I wanted to use but it finally dawned on me that our OLD [and I mean, old] glider needed a makeover in a major way for baby boy's nursery! We've had this glider since just before my oldest was born [he's now 5] and it was new to us at that time but not new. We bought it at a local goodwill. It needed some serious TLC so my sister recovered it for me -- can you believe at the time I didn't even know how to sew?! I gave it a good coating in new spray paint and it was like a new chair!I've been agonizing over what to do about a glider -- our nursery is so small so a big comfy chair was pretty much out and I really loved the comfy level of our current glider, the look just didn't fit baby boy's nursery theme anymore.
I used Bound in Canvas by April Rhodes and literally just winged it on a hope and a prayer. I used the cushions as my "pattern" and it was a really short + simple makeover project! And holy moly isn't my little guy THE CUTEST!? I just want to eat him up.
The last step in the glider makeover was a fresh coat of spray paint. I'm kind of obsessing over grey right now [if you haven't been able to tell by my instagram feed] so it was the natural choice. I grabbed two cans at Home Depot and it was done in about an hour. I love fast + easy projects!
I can't wait to share more of his nursery with you guys! This is probably the most neutral and simple of the three nurseries I've put together and I just love sitting in there dreaming about our new little one.
