the coveted bunk beds

Holy moly have I get a LOT of requests about the details of the bunk beds in my kids shared room! I'm so glad you guys love them as much as we do and figured it's probably easiest to point everyone towards a linkable blog post with all of the information I have!We bought the Kura bed from Ikea a couple of years ago but luckily they still seem to have it in stock and even better -- it's only 2 colors vs the three we had! We first had it flipped with just one mattress and a canopy on top but when my current youngest started wanting to sleep in there anyways [and another babe on the way!], we decided to flip it and have my daughter [3] sleep on the bottom and my son [5] sleep on the top.We have a regular twin mattress on the floor and an ikea twin mattress on the top. I hated the look of the bed because of the multi-color tone and just knew it needed an upgrade so I painted it the perfect shade of grey! I put a drop cloth down, flipped the bed the way I wanted, and painted with a regular paint brush. First, I did a coat or two of primer and then a coat of grey -- similar color here but definitely choose what you like! I let each coat dry for a few hours in between. Does it chip? It's chipped a little in one spot, I'm thinking it had a tiny flap starting to peel and my son was bored one night trying to go to bed. Will fix that right up one of these days [aka probably never]!I hope that helps answer everyone's questions but if you have anymore, please leave them in the comments and I will add the information to this post! Below are not exact links to products but links to where I purchased them.
